Traveling lighter, happier, appreciating more with less.

the movement, migration, or scattering of a people away from an established or ancestral homeland

When I began traveling in 2015, I had no expectation of the unfolding of people, places and discovery that took me from traveling as an escape to traveling with deliberate intention.

This post has undergone some rewrites, as the meaning that travel has for me, and my needs for expression have evolved. For the past 3 years I’ve been travelling almost continually with no fixed home anywhere. It wasn’t a lifestyle choice, it just sort of happened. I’ve lived in a combination of hostels, hotels, Airbnb apartments (I was living the minimalist Airbnb life way before James Altucher), Couch Surfing and a few interesting alternative types of accommodation. Most of the time I’ve been overwhelmed with gratitude for all the people I’ve met and places I’ve seen, and that is reflected in most of what I post. And sometimes the challenges of moving on all the time finds its way into my writing.
